Savoiardi biscuits, named after the Italian region of Savoy, are sweet and light biscuits with a very crumbly and fluffy consistency. Their shape, a cylinder with rounded edges, resembles a thick finger, which is why they are called Lady Fingers in English. Their origin is associated with the late 15th century, when they were created at the court of the Dukes of Savoy. Biscuits are one of the main ingredients in Tiramisu.
